A repeat client of ours has been asking for a sign to put on their front porch. They had found a design which they liked and asked us to recreate it. We would like to take you through this process and show you how the service we give our clients.

First we will talk with the client about the design they have in mind. We will suggest ideas that would make the finished product enjoyable through the years. We will also suggest enhancements or ideas clients haven’t thought of. It is always helpful when a client brings a picture or rough sketch so we have an idea where to start.
In the second step we will design some options of what the client has told us and what we understood. This is also where the final dimensions are determined. As we are working on actual scale, it can be difficult to show everything on one screen. We try and accommodate all of the clients requests within our designs. At this time, we do not have borders or the full design. This is because of the time involved to create the designs.

Once the client has decided on the final design, which will show a representation of the item. We also will have a close to correct color representation. It is impossible to duplicate the colors on a screen. This is due to the settings and capabilities of the screens.
At this time we will make a full size pattern. We will then transfer this to the work piece and the finishing begins. This is also the last time that any changes can be made. This can all be done over the phone or through email and messaging.

Once everything else is done, we start working on the project and finishing it. This project and the steps involved were for the Welcome sign with daisies and sunflowers. While we were working on this sign, we decided to make two of them. One for the client and one for our booth at the Picker’s Flea Market hosted by 316 Antiques Mall in Bloomington, IL.
That completes the process of working with a client to bring their idea to life. We do look forward to working with you on your next idea and helping you to bring it to life. Remember, we are a small operation and have schedules of our own. Quality work is worth the wait.
